On our third episode, Ken Burns talks about the harshness of the War and how he selected the music used throughout the documentary. In addition, Burns’ talks about his use of photos, sounds and archived footage . Hosted by David Cruz.

Ken Burns’ The War features some of the classic recordings from American history, as well as new recordings from musical luminaries Norah Jones and Wynton Marsalis. There are several collections of music available via SonyBMG, including the official soundtrack, dance hits, “Hits from the second world war”, a classical collection as well as a box set with all the great music in one place.

    There appears to be an error every time I attempt to play Part 3 of the Podcast Sounds of the War. This is so unfortunate. I’m fascinated by this series and it is a wonderful companion to the DVD series and the book. Please, if you can, make corrections to Part 3.
